Saudi Arabia commented on the developments taking place in the region following Iran’s launch of a missile attack on Israel, calling on all parties to “exercise the utmost restraint and spare the region and its people from the dangers of war.”
In the Kingdom’s first comment on Iran’s attack against Israel, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep concern about developments in the military escalation in the region and the seriousness of its repercussions.
In a statement, the Ministry affirmed its position calling for “the necessity of informing the Security Council of its responsibility towards maintaining international peace and security… and preventing the crisis from escalating.”
The Saudi Foreign Ministry warned of “serious consequences” if the cycle of tension and war expands in the region.

The Israeli army said that Iran has launched more than 200 drones and missiles at Israel since Saturday, noting that it was possible to intercept many of them far from Israel’s borders, but added that the shooting continues.

Minister Gallant thanked Washington for its firm stance alongside Israel, and stressed that the security establishment maintains the highest level of preparedness in the face of further attack attempts.
On Saturday, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, “strongly condemned the dangerous escalation” represented by the Iranian attack on Israel, calling for “an immediate cessation of these hostilities.”

International reactions to the Iranian attack against Israel
Western powers condemned Iranian strikes on Israel late Saturday, warning that the attack threatened to further destabilize the Middle East.
He added, “I urge all parties to exercise the utmost restraint to prevent any action that might lead to major military confrontations on multiple fronts in the Middle East.”
