The Islamic Research Academy at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif announced the launch of the first convoy to raise awareness of rituals Pilgrimage Umrah at Cairo International Airport to implement its awareness programme. This is within the framework of the efforts of the Islamic Research Academy to raise awareness of the rituals of Hajj and Umrah, and in implementation of the directives of His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, to intensify awareness efforts, especially seasonal ones.
The Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, said that the awareness convoys launched by the Academy at airports and ports from which pilgrims travel every year work to receive groups of pilgrims to the Holy House of God and educate them about the Hajj rituals before leaving the homeland for the Holy Lands. The convoys, which include male and female Al-Azhar preachers who have been trained and qualified in a way that meets the pilgrims’ cognitive needs, provide direct awareness within the airport lounges of Hajj and Umrah rituals for the pilgrims of the lottery, solidarity and associations at the republic level, in addition to the pilgrims of the various ministries, bodies and tourism, where the members of the convoy are divided into different periods. Throughout the day to cover all groups of pilgrims 24 hours a day at airports and ports.
Ayyad added that the convoys focus on many awareness axes, the most important of which are: the jurisprudence of facilitation, how to exploit this blessed journey in obedience to God, and explaining the necessity of sincerity in word and deed and that this is one of the most important reasons for accepting Hajj, in addition to explaining the rituals of Hajj and clarifying its pillars and invalidations, and the Sunnahs. recommended in it, and other things that the pilgrim needs during this journey from Ihram until returning to his homeland, pointing out that these convoys witness great interaction on the part of the pilgrims of the Holy House of God, and praising the great role played by the male and female preachers of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading Al-Azhar’s approach, which is characterized by With moderation and moderation in understanding and applying the Islamic religion.
The Secretary-General explained that the awareness-raising convoys regarding the rituals of Hajj and Umrah witness the participation of female preachers from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif alongside male preachers. This is due to the importance of their participation for women before they travel to perform this ritual, and their need to obtain some information related to women’s needs during the performance of the ritual.
