“The Shadow” revealed a difficult conversation with Neta Barzilai: “Someone should have said this – obesity is a disease”

Yoav Eliasi (“The Shadow”) watched singer Neta Barzilai’s meltdown on the dance floor in Keshet 12’s “Dancing with the Stars” reality show yesterday (Sunday) and recalled a clearly unpleasant incident that occurred with her several years ago, after he wrote a critical post about the support she received during a show A fashion in which she participated, a support which she interpreted as encouraging the phenomenon of obesity.

In the post he dedicated to the subject, he also talked about the time when he himself was overweight, and about the significant change he made in his life in order to avoid the danger of life in which he was. For dessert he sent a jab at the Eurovision winner.

“Several years ago, I met Neta at a mutual friend’s event,” Eliasi shared in a post below screenshots of Neta’s words on the program: “I feel like saying that obesity is not necessarily a disease. I was simply not healthy. I discovered it after I went to the doctor for an examination routine”.

“I was sitting next to her, and out of politeness I approached her to say hello,” Eliasi continued. “She rolled her eyes, turned to me angrily and told me aggressively, ‘Just so you know that being fat is not a disease’ and that she is very healthy. She said I should be ashamed and left.”

He later explained the reason he said Barzilai lashed out at him. “It was in connection with a post I wrote about a fashion show where they paraded her in a yellow swimsuit and applauded her and said that this is how a real woman should look. I wrote that kudos to her courage, but we should stop encouraging obesity. I almost lost my life because I was fat and suffered from cholesterol , diabetes, fatty liver, and Helicobacter (bacteria in the digestive system; 14). If I hadn’t switched to a healthy lifestyle, which made all the diseases disappear, I probably wouldn’t be here,” he predicted.

“I appreciated her self-confidence, and it was not to hurt her,” he clarified. “But someone should have said it. Obesity is a disease. But she took it personally and got hurt. Yesterday I saw her on the show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and she seemed to realize that I was right. First of all, I was talking about losing weight and only health. Now, may I say How are you?” he asked with a wink.
