Khabarni – Egyptian preacher Dr. Saeed Abdel Azim died on Sunday, in Medina, western Saudi Arabia, after a long preaching journey.
The page of Dr. Saeed Abdel Azim was published on the social networking site “Facebook”, indicating that the funeral prayer for him will be in the Prophet’s Mosque, and that he will be buried in Al-Baqi Cemetery.
Sheikh Saeed Abdel Azim Ali Muhammad was born in Alexandria, Egypt, on November 10, 1952 AD.
He is considered one of the most prominent sheikhs of the Salafist Call in Egypt and one of its founders in the 1970s. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from Alexandria University in 1978, and served as the preacher of Al-Fatah Mosque in Mustafa Kamel in Alexandria.
The Sheikh made preaching trips to several countries, including Qatar, France, Italy, and Greece.
His scientific and advocacy career
Dr. Saeed Abdel Azim began seeking knowledge from an early age, starting with his grandfather’s huge library, which sparked his passion for research and knowledge. He inherited many of his books, and they became the nucleus of his personal library.
His journey with advocacy began in high school, where he preached Friday sermons in several mosques in Alexandria, such as the Sharia Society and Ansar al-Sunnah.
Abdul Aziz is considered one of the first founders of the advocacy work in the Islamic Group at the university, then the Salafi School in Alexandria in the 1970s, and then the Salafi Call.
He supervised many advocacy and social activities through various stages until now.
He has many books that have been translated into several languages and printed and distributed in several countries, the most important of which is in May 2013, Dr. Saeed Baad Al-Azim visited the Gaza Strip.
He also published many articles in Arab newspapers and magazines and contributed to the scientific supervision of Al-Hikma magazine.
Dr. Saeed Abdel Azim obtained licenses in Hadith narration and many major books. In addition to his specialty in medicine, he is a member of the Association of Muslim Scholars, the Board of Trustees of the Sharia Authority for Rights and Reform, the Shura Council of Scholars, and the Board of Trustees of the Salafi Call in Alexandria.
