Maccabi signed Jaylen Hord for two years

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv signed Jaylen Hord for the next two years. The French-American forward (2.03 meters, 25), who starred for the last two years in the Hapoel Tel Aviv uniform, brings with him experience in Israel and in the local league, along with great abilities in defense and rebounding.

Jaylen Hurd was born on March 30, 1999 in Le Havre, France, to an American father and a French mother. His parents played basketball themselves and his sister also played in the tricolor youth team. Jaylen himself played in the youth teams of the French and at the age of 17 he went to high school in North Carolina in the United States. He played one year at Wake Forest University, went undrafted in 2019 and received a two-way contract with Portland, which sent him to the Development League.

Hurd had time to play in the NBA in the Blazers uniform and also in the ranks of the Oklahoma City Thunder, in media he contributed 8.4 points and 5.7 rebounds on average per evening over 26 games. In August 2022 he crossed the Atlantic back east and joined Hapoel Tel Aviv. In his first season in the Premier League, he provided 7.2 points and 4.7 rebounds, but in the current season he improved significantly in every aspect.

He took part in 16 regular season games in the league and averaged 16.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per night. In the playoffs he contributed 12.6 points at 66% for two, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists with great defense against players in a variety of positions. Hurd did not drop from a double-digit points average in the meetings with Maccabi and in the final series he produced 13.6 points and 8 rebounds per game. Eurocup took part in 14 games and finished with 16.1 points and 5.1 rebounds. Hurd is one of the extended squad of the French team, which is currently preparing for the Olympic Games in Paris.
