Pyramids threatened with not participating in the African Champions League next season due to the stars’ complaint

CAF officials have begun investigating the complaint filed by El-Nogoom FC before awarding the team Pyramids The license to participate in African championships, which may threaten the Sky Blues’ participation in the African Champions League next season.

Al-Nogoom Club, one of the Egyptian Second Division League clubs, had resorted to the Confederation of African Football to file a complaint against Pyramids Club regarding its dues in the deal for Mahmoud Saber, the current player for the team and the Olympic team.

Al-Nojoom Club issued an official statement yesterday, Tuesday, announcing that it had filed a complaint with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) against the club’s procedures for obtaining… Pyramids On the African license to participate in continental championships, demanding that it be withdrawn from him because he did not pay the dues of his player Mahmoud Saber.

The club said in its statement: “Within the framework of the fair demand of the Nogoum Club from the Egyptian Football Association, to stop granting Pyramids Club a license to participate in the African Champions League during the new season, without justification, due to its violation of the license conditions due to its debt to the Nogoum Club.”

He added: “The objection of the Nogoum Club is based on the fact that the Pyramids Club followed the grievance procedures before an incompetent committee, and the grievance should have been filed before the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), according to the regulations of the Egyptian Football Association’s statute.”

He continued: “Despite the Egyptian Federation’s procrastination in implementing this decision, since its issuance on June 23, 2023, equivalent to 370 days, the Federation has continued to be courteous. Pyramidsissuing the decision on June 27.

He handed it over to El-Nogoum Club three days later, with the aim of enabling Pyramids Club to obtain the license without any right, and to gain time until El-Nogoum Club loses its right to its just demand, to suspend Pyramids Club’s license from the African Union.

The stars claimed that the Egyptian Federation did not commit to submitting the documents related to the case to the officials of the Federation’s licensing authority, or to handing over a copy of them to the Stars Club.

Earlier during the week before last, El-Nogoom Club issued a statement condemning the Football Association officials’ disregard for its crisis with Pyramids Club regarding player Mahmoud Saber.

Al-Nojoom Club confirmed that the Football Association refused to hand over the declaration of its rights in the crisis of the late dues in the transfer of Mahmoud Saber, despite a prior promise to receive this decision.

The stars confirmed that receiving the decision means that they have the right to officially demand that Pyramids be prevented from obtaining a license to participate in the African Champions League next season.

The stars called on the Football Association to move quickly to help them preserve their rights.

Two weeks ago, El-Nogoom announced that he had filed a complaint against Pyramids with the Football Association due to not receiving the late dues from Mahmoud Saber’s transfer.

The statement was as follows:

Al-Nogoom Football Club was surprised by the Egyptian Football Association’s refusal to hand over the Football Association’s decision document regarding the financial rights owed to Al-Nogoom Club by Pyramids Club.

This decision gives Al-Nogoom Club the right to officially demand that Pyramids Club be stopped from granting a license to participate in the African Champions League, unless the latter pays these dues.

The Football Association delayed delivering this decision from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM yesterday, Thursday, June 27, 2024, despite the existence of a prior appointment from Major General Helmy Mashhour with the club’s representative to deliver the letter to him.

The representative of the Stars Club was then asked to come and receive this decision on Monday, July 1, 2024.

It is clear that there is an attempt to deliberately delay the delivery of the decision until after the end of the legal period specified by the regulations and standards of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for obtaining a license to participate in the African Championship, which prevents any club indebted to another club from participating in the African Championships for the 2024/2025 season.
