Hijri New Year holiday date for private sector workers

An informed source revealed that Mohamed Gebran, the new Minister of Labor, is about to approve the date of the Hijri New Year holiday for private sector workers in accordance with Labor Law No. 12 of 2003.

The source added, in exclusive statements to Masrawy, that Thursday, July 11, 2024, will be the date of the Hijri New Year holiday for private sector workers subject to Labor Law No. 12 of 2003.

The employer may employ the worker on this day if the work conditions require it, and in this case the worker is entitled, in addition to his wage for this day, to double this wage in accordance with the text of Article (52) of the Labor Law.
