The Subject: The Chiefs celebrate in the locker room after winning Super Bowl LVIII.
Camera Model: Cannon EOS R3
Q: “What was it like in the locker room after the game?
Sanders: “I’ve been in the locker room now for three winning Super Bowl games, and I think this one was the best,” Sanders said. “I think this was maybe the hardest-fought game, and it ended so dramatically that these guys were ecstatic. You know, this is victory, and there are so many little stories inside of this photo. Look at all of the emotion and the champagne. [Tight end Travis Kelce] is in the middle jumping up and down, and look at his face. You can just tell how happy he is to be in the middle of that with his teammates.”
Q: How difficult was it to capture this amongst the craziness of that locker room?
Sanders: “Well, this picture posed a lot of problems in the same way that a ‘snow picture’ would because you have these little champagne bubbles dancing around the picture, and they’d sometimes steal focus,” Sanders said. “Fortunately, we were able to keep that focus on Trav and just really tell the story.”
