As I mentioned local reports, The overturning accident of the tourist bus belonging to Galala University, which resulted in the deaths of 12 people, was due to “excessive speed,” as the driver lost control of the steering wheel on one of the dangerous curves.

Security investigations also revealed that the bus was not accompanied by any other vehicles, which means that there were no other external factors that caused the accident, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper.

Local media, including the official Al-Ahram newspaper, reported that the incident involved students from Galala University, located in the city of the same name, which is one of the government’s national projects in the Suez Governorate.

The incident came one day after a train accident in Minya Governorate in Upper Egypt, which caused the death of one person and injury of 21 others, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Egyptian Ministry of Transport said in a statement on Sunday that the accident occurred as a result of a tractor colliding with the back of a sleeper train coming from Aswan (south of the country) towards the capital, Cairo.

The Minister of Transport and Industry, Kamel Al-Wazir, confirmed that those responsible for the accident, whether they were drivers, tower observers, operating engineers, or the head of the region, will be referred to the Public Prosecution to investigate them and hold them accountable, with the aim of imposing severe penalties on them “that are proportionate to the severity of the crime they committed.” , according to his expression.
