Al-Safadi stressed that “stopping the Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon and the Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and against Islamic and Christian sanctities is the first step towards reducing the escalation and restoring calm in the region.”

He also stressed that “Jordan will not be a battlefield for anyone, and will not allow any party to violate its sovereignty and airspace and threaten the security of its citizens.”

Al-Safadi also stressed that fulfilling the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and an independent, sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of the two-state solution, is the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security for all, according to the Jordanian Foreign Ministry statement.

For its part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Araqchi – who arrived in Amman as part of a regional tour today, Wednesday – explained his views during his meeting with the King of Jordan.
