Trump appoints his campaign chair, Susie Wiles, to the position of White House chief of staff

US President-elect Donald Trump announced Thursday that he has chosen his campaign chair, Susie Wiles, to fill the position of White House chief of staff, in his first major appointment after winning the election this week.

“Susie Wales helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history,” the billionaire Republican said in a statement.

He added that Wales “will continue to work tirelessly to make America great again,” referring to his famous campaign slogan.

The president-elect recalled that this sixty-year-old woman will be the first woman in the history of the United States to hold this prestigious position, considering it “an honor she has well deserved.”

The position of White House Chief of Staff is considered in the United States to be the most strategic position in the executive authority, and in other countries it is equivalent to the position of Chief of Staff of the President or Head of the Royal Court.
