The session reviewed the achievements of the intellectual property sector achieved in the year 2024, which was full of initiatives that strengthened the UAE’s position as a global center for intellectual property. Among the most prominent of these achievements in the field of trademarks was the launch of the “One-Day Mark” project, which accelerated the examination of trademarks, and the “Your Mark, Your Identity” initiative, which It supported small and medium enterprise owners in registering their trademarks easily, and the sector also continued to protect intellectual property rights in the sports sector by launching initiatives and coordinating with the relevant authorities from the government and private sectors in the country.Automatic blocking
In the field of innovation and industrial property, the Ministry of Economy worked to improve procedures to be easier and more flexible, in addition to launching programs aimed at supporting innovators, such as a project to support patents related to sustainability, and a system for supporting and strengthening innovation incubators, in addition to developing systems based on artificial intelligence to speed up the processes of searching and examining patents.
In this context, Dr. Issa Al Bastaki, President of the Emirates Science Club, praised the role of the Ministry of Economy in the Club obtaining international observer membership in the World Intellectual Property Organization this year, stressing that this achievement is the result of constructive cooperation with the Ministry and its keenness to enhance the global participation of Emirati talents.
Rashid Al-Kous, Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association, highlighted that Emirati publishers have contributed to the prosperity of the local publishing movement, as the Association has worked to support this sector since its founding in 2009, through initiatives and programs.
It aims to support the Emirati publisher and enhance its presence on the regional and global levels, and this was supported by partners, most notably the Ministry of Economy.
