The Mega Millions jackpot slides into the No. 5 spot on the game’s list of largest jackpots − and now ranks No. 8 for top U.S. lottery drawings of all-time − after no tickets matched all six numbers Friday night.
Six new millionaires were crowned Friday after mathcing five numbers without the Mega Ball, including one ticket that added the Megaplier.
Tuesday’s jackpot rose to an estimated $1.1 billion with a cash option of $525.8 million.

Friday night’s winning numbers were 3, 8, 31, 35, 44, and the Mega Ball was 16. The Megaplier was 3X.
No one matched all six numbers to win the Mega Millions jackpot.
Five tickets purchased in California, Florida, Illinois, Nebraska, and Texas matched all five numbers except for the Mega Ball worth $1 million. One ticket sold in Virginia matched all five numbers except for the Mega Ball and added the Megaplier for $3 million.

You only need to match one number in Mega Millions to win a prize. However, that number must be the Mega Ball, worth $2.

The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing rose to an estimated $1.1 billion with a cash option of $525.8 million, according to megamillions.com.

A Mega Millions ticket costs $2 per play. For an additional $1, players can add the Megaplier to potentially increase their winnings outside of the jackpot.
