Acting President of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, Dr. Taha Rabeh, said that the stations of the National Seismic Monitoring Network affiliated with the Institute recorded today, Friday, at 9:12 minutes and 47 seconds in the morning, Cairo local time, an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale. It is located 855 kilometers north of Marsa Matrouh Southern Greece.
Rabeh confirmed, in a statement issued by the institute on Friday, that the institute received information indicating that the earthquake was felt, and that there were no losses of life or property.
He pointed to the data of the earthquake, which occurred at 37.40 degrees north latitude and 21.50 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 25 km.
