Many news reports have spread indicating the possibility of the departure of the Tunisian left-back of the team, Ali Maaloul, during the current summer transfer period, which has sparked widespread controversy among Al-Ahly fans, especially in light of the Red fans’ love for the Tunisian star.
Al-Ahly had decided not to register the Tunisian star in the team’s roster during the current period until next January 2025, until he gets rid of the injury he is suffering from, without any intention to dispense with the player or terminate the contract with him.
Ali Maaloul has been absent from Al-Ahly club since last June, after suffering an Achilles tendon injury during the Red Devils’ match against Esperance Sportive de Tunis in the 2023-2024 CAF Champions League final.
Ali Maaloul joined Al-Ahly club in July 2016, coming from the Tunisian team, Sfaxien, for $730,000.
Since arriving at Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium, Maaloul has succeeded in achieving many championships and records, as Maaloul was able to play 287 matches with the team in various championships, during which he was able to score 51 goals and provide 83 assists.
Maaloul achieved many championships with Al-Ahly Club, as he succeeded in winning 21 titles with the team, including 6 Egyptian League titles, 5 Egyptian Super Cup titles, 4 titles for each of the African Champions League and Egypt Cup, and 2 African Super Cup titles.
