Kenzi Diab, the daughter of the star Amr Diab, entered the world of fine art, taking a distinctive artistic path away from the field of singing, which is controlled by her family members.
It has recently begun organizing art exhibitions displaying the works of contemporary female artists from various parts of the Arab world.
In her new art exhibition entitled “I Forgot How I Felt,” Kenzi displays a group of distinguished artworks by female artists from various Arab countries.
This exhibition is part of the “Memoirs of My Life” project, which she founded with her close friend, Christina Shawqair, with the aim of discovering new talent and providing Arab female artists with the opportunity to display their work.
The idea of establishing “My Life Diary” began after Kenzi Diab graduated from the university in 2022, as she wanted to create a platform that would enhance the visibility of Arab female artists and provide them with an opportunity to display their work in an exhibition that reflects the cultural and creative diversity in the Arab world.
Kenzi said: “The idea came after my graduation, and my goal was to work with Arab women in various creative industries and search for new ideas that contribute to changing the prevailing concepts about art in the Arab world.”
In November 2023, Kenzi and her friend organized the first exhibition entitled Through Their Eyes: Perspectives Unveiled in the British capital, London, where the works of nine female artists from Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine and other Arab countries were displayed.
Speaking about why she focuses on the work of Arab female artists, Kenzi said: “The stereotype of Arab women is often incomplete or distorted.
Through this exhibition, we wanted to give Arab women an opportunity to express themselves authentically, away from stereotypes that may be limited to their experiences.”
