The lawyer of Hussein Al-Shahat, the Al-Ahly club player, Ashraf Abdel Aziz, revealed the next step, following the ruling on the player in the case of Mohamed El-Shaibi, the Pyramids player.

Al-Shahat’s lawyer said in statements on MBC Misr 2: “There is no truth to depriving Al-Shahat from sporting activity. The ruling was one year’s imprisonment with a suspended sentence and a ban on membership in boards of directors for 5 years.”

He added: “We will file an appeal against the referee within a week, and reports showed that there was provocation from Al-Shaibi during the match.”

In the Egyptian League 2022-2023, after the Al-Ahly and Pyramids match, an argument broke out between Al-Shahat and Al-Shaibi, which resulted in the former slapping the latter.

The Disciplinary Committee then decided to suspend Al-Shahat for two matches and impose a fine of 20,000 pounds, but Al-Shaibi resorted to the civil courts, and two days ago, Al-Shahat was sentenced to one year’s suspended imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 pounds.
