Khaled Adeeb, son of media figure Amr Adeeb, criticized the attacks that his cousin, the young artist Amira Adeeb, has been subjected to since she released her first singing experience, “Kart Mahrouk,” through his account on the famous social networking site “X.”
Khaled defended Amira and was keen to comment on the responses he received, writing, “I just want to say something about my cousin Amira Adeeb because I see how much disgust is being said about the girl. Yes, it’s true that she comes from a big family, which gives her a lot of privileges, and it’s easier for her to do a shift like this, but let’s be clear: Amira’s popularity with the younger generation is like wrapping our entire family in a cigarette.”
Khaled continued, “Amira is the official spokesperson for – mentioning a famous brand – one of the largest makeup companies in human history. Her opening card game literally caused a crisis in the malls because of the number of kids who came to see her. The girl is not even 25 years old yet, and I personally think that this is a very impressive achievement.”
He added, “Not to mention that she started her own brand, acted, and now released a video directed by her. This is not easy. Neither I, nor my father, nor her father have the soft power that she has from her strong presence on TikTok and her popularity with the young generation. I think the music is bad, her acting is bad, it’s normal. But a word of truth, Amira deserves her success.”
In response to the comments, he wrote, “It’s a very normal song, there’s nothing strange in it, and it all comes out with a tune (what’s up, everyone is singing and dad must have brought you the microphone), and the girl is really hardworking in a way that I’m proud to have someone like her at work.” In another response, “I didn’t say that the song was a success, nothing succeeds overnight. Whether the song is bad or good is a normal and permissible opinion. What I’m talking about is attacking her just because her name is Adeeb and making fun of her looks.”
He commented, “Guys, I swear I’m not interested in getting into arguments with you about (what is success?) and (what is successful art?) nor am I interested in convincing anyone that she is a talented princess. Simply put, she is my little cousin, the only girl in the family that I know well and I have seen with my own eyes the work she has done on herself and I am proud of her. Of course I will defend her, it’s obvious.”
Amira Adeeb revealed her first song, “Kart Mahrouk”, after filming it as a video clip. She posted a clip of the song on her personal Instagram account, and commented: “The first video clip for the single, Kart Mahrouk, is now available on all music platforms.”
Amira Adeeb belongs to a large family that has achieved great success and fame on the artistic and media levels. She is the daughter of director Adel Adeeb and artist Manal Salama. Her uncle is the media figure Emad El-Din Adeeb, her uncle is the media figure Amr Adeeb, her maternal uncle is the artist Sherif Salama, and her grandfather is the late great writer Abdel-Hay Adeeb.
