The new crescent remains for 31 minutes after sunset on that day (day of sighting) in Mecca and in Cairo for 38 minutes, and in the rest of the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the new crescent remains in their skies for periods ranging between (32) – 40 minutes). In Arab and Islamic capitals and cities, the new crescent remains after sunset on that day for periods ranging from (8) to 48 (minutes).

Astronomical calculations prepared by the Sun Research Laboratory at the National Institute for Astronomical Research indicated that, thus, the beginning of the month of Dhul-Qi’dah 1445 AH astronomically falls on Thursday 5/9/2024 AD.
