The husband of adult film actress Stormy Daniels said on Tuesday that he sees a “good opportunity” to leave the United States if former President Donald Trump is acquitted in the case in which he is being tried in Manhattan.
Speaking to the network,CNNNews, Barrett Blade, who has been the husband of Daniels since 2022, with whom Trump allegedly had a sexual relationship in 2006, said they wanted to move on with their lives “and move on from this issue.”
He added, “Either way, I don’t think it’s going to get better for her. If he’s not guilty, we have to decide what to do. There’s a good chance she’ll probably get out of the country.”
He continued, “If Trump is proven guilty (in the case), he believes Daniels will still face hatred from supporters of the potential Republican presidential nominee.”
Blade noted that his wife, Dannibals, just wants to “move on with her life” after the case.
Trump is being prosecuted on charges of falsifying 34 accounting documents that were supposedly used to conceal a sum of money paid to cover up a supposed sex scandal during his campaign for the 2016 presidential elections in which he defeated his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.
Prosecutors allege that Trump violated the law by falsifying business records to compensate his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, and concealing the $130,000 “hush money” that was paid to Daniels on Trump’s behalf.
Trump pleaded not guilty and denied the case.
Blade also said that the hate his wife faces “doesn’t matter to him,” because Daniels is “used to all of this” and that she was prepared, given that she receives a lot of harsh and negative comments on social media.
“She’s fighting for what she believes is right and telling the truth, and I don’t think a lot of people realize that,” he continued.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, stood on Tuesday, May 7, in court to testify while wearing all black clothing and black-rimmed glasses. While Trump leaned back in his chair watching her, according to Reuters.
Before she spoke, Judge Juan Merchan said Daniels would be allowed to testify about basic details of the alleged sexual encounter.
Trump’s defense attorney, Susan Nicholls, objected, saying her testimony was not useful in a case centered around financial records.
Prosecutor Susan Hofenfer said testimony was necessary to complete the story and prove Daniels’ credibility. She said the testimony would include basic details “and not a description of genitals or anything like that.”
The porn actress said that she met Trump during a short meeting with pornographic film actresses and golf players, and the actress caught Trump’s attention when one of his aides mentioned that Daniels directs films. He said, ‘Oh! You’re directing too! You must be the smart one,'” Danez said.
After the brief meeting at the tournament, a person she said was his bodyguard approached her and asked her to have dinner with Trump.
She initially strongly refused, but changed her mind after her publicist convinced her that Dinner “could make a great story. He’s a businessman. What could go wrong?”
Prosecutors showed jurors the famous photo of Trump and Daniels together at the golf tournament where they said they met. She was asked to confirm the identity of the person in the photo, and she said it was “me and Mr. Trump.”
When she arrived at his hotel suite, according to her testimony, Trump received her wearing satin pajamas. She asked Trump to change his clothes, and he politely responded to her.
Daniels indicated that Trump showed her several pictures and magazine covers in his hotel suite, and said that she asked to see a picture of his wife, Melania, noting that: “She is very beautiful.” He responded that they did not even sleep in the same room, according to the details of her testimony reported by “NB.” bad”.
