Confessions of the Giza signage thieves: We stole 10 signs in the jaw-dropping style

Two unemployed men made detailed confessions before the Public Prosecution Office in Manshayet Al-Qanater, stating that they had formed a gang whose activity was specialized in stealing road signs on public roads in the department’s department.

The prosecution decided to detain the two defendants for 4 days pending investigations, and demanded that the security services investigate them to determine their activities to complete the investigations. Lama was charged with theft of public property in violation of the provisions of the law.

Punishment for theft

Article 318 of the Penal Code punishes anyone who commits theft with a period not exceeding two years for thefts that are not accompanied by an aggravating circumstance.

Thefts that meet one of the aggravating circumstances stipulated in Article 317 shall be punished with imprisonment with hard labor for 3 years. In the event of a return, the penalty may be aggravated by placing the accused under police surveillance for a period of at least one year or two years at most. This is a complementary penalty stipulated in Article 320 of Penal Code.
