The date for implementing daylight saving time is one of the most searched words on Google search engines, coinciding with the beginning of the spring season and the weather fluctuations witnessed in various governorates during the current period.
The winter season officially ended on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, and on Thursday, June 20, 2024, the summer season officially begins.
According to what the government announced, daylight saving time will be implemented on its scheduled date in April 2024, as there is no truth to any news circulating regarding changing or advancing the date of implementing daylight saving time 2024.
The government explained that winter time will be changed to summer time in 2024, starting from the last Monday of next April, corresponding to the 29th of the month, and the clock will be moved forward by a full 60 minutes, so that the hour will instead be from twelve midnight to one in the morning.
It is noteworthy that winter time was implemented starting on Thursday, October 26, 2023, and winter time will continue for 6 months until winter time ends on Friday, April 26, 2024, which is the last Friday of the month, and the clock is moved forward to twelve o’clock in the morning instead of Eleven pm.
The Prime Minister approved the implementation of daylight saving time in Egypt starting last April 2023, when the time was moved forward by a full hour, so that the time became twelve after midnight instead of eleven at night.
The adoption of daylight saving time in Egypt came 7 years after its cancellation, and it was implemented during the last Friday of April 2023. The daylight saving time mechanism is based on moving the clock forward by 60 minutes, according to Cabinet data.
