The Seventh Day monitored citizens’ celebrations in Egypt’s governorates bNew Gregorian year 2025The squares and streets were decorated with Christmas trees, lights, and fireworks to celebrate the New Year, and large numbers of citizens came to celebrate and take souvenir photos.
In Alexandria, the governorate’s squares were decorated for New Year’s and Christmas, and the squares and street entrances to the Smouha area were filled with Christmas trees, to which large numbers of citizens flocked to take souvenir photos next to them to celebrate New Year’s.
In Beheira, the governorate witnessed large New Year’s celebrations amid an atmosphere of joy and happiness despite the cold weather, and people flocked to cafes and social clubs whose walls were decorated with Santa Claus and red roses and broadcast popular songs, in celebration of Christmas.
The seventh day also monitored the celebrations inside the Cathedral of the Martyr St. George in Mahalla al-Kubra in Gharbia Governorate, to monitor the celebrations of the Coptic brothers on New Year’s Day, and the gathering of children and youth inside the cathedral square to celebrate with a member of the church who was wearing Santa Claus clothes and distributing chocolate to the children and members of the church, and a situation prevailed. There is joy among children and families with the arrival of the New Year, and they are keen to be with Santa Claus and take souvenir photos with him.
