Among registered independent voters, 25% said Trump’s conviction would make them less likely to support him, compared to 18% who said they were more likely to vote for him and 56% who said the conviction would have no effect on their decision.
The aforementioned figures come against the background of the close battle between Donald Trump and his competing candidate, President Joe Biden, about the presidency in the upcoming elections. According to the latest poll, 41% of voters said they would vote for Biden if the election were held today, compared to 39% who supported Trump. In light of the current poll, which speaks of a potential loss of ten percent for Trump, it is possible that the attachment will be looser.
