Due to a lightning storm: the game between Germany and Denmark was stopped for 25 minutes

You don’t see an event like this every day, certainly not at the end of June. The Euro 2024 Round of 16 match in Dortmund between hosts Germany and Denmark was stopped in the 35th minute, and resumed only 25 minutes later. The reason for the stop was the weather, since besides heavy rain and hail, there was also a lightning storm and one of the lightnings even turned off lights in the stadium.

Following the extreme weather, English referee Michael Oliver took the players of both teams to the dressing room and the match resumed from that point almost half an hour later. The drainage problems that already occurred in one of the group stage games in Dortmund, led to the fact that even part of the audience, which should be protected from the rain thanks to the roof, got wet. The unusual situation produced some extraordinary photos, the best of which are here.
