Al-Badawi indicated – in today’s statements – that the government will prepare a vision for the new social package, during the coming period, to be presented to President Sisi, who will announce its details to the Egyptian people as soon as possible.
Al-Badawi stated that this new social package aims to improve the standard of living of citizens by increasing incomes and providing basic services, in addition to alleviating the effects of inflation on citizens, especially on the groups most affected.
The Vice President of the Egyptian Workers Union added that the social packages and increases that are approved by the state and under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi take into account the concept of social justice, as they concern all workers in the state and the promotion of social stability, calling on the relevant agencies and departments to control the price system so as not to eat up those Increases in salaries and pensions.
Al-Badawi called on the National Wages Council to review the value of the current minimum wage in the private sector in line with inflation rates and oblige institutions to apply it similarly to the public sector.
