The date of the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah and the Arafat stop
Approved astronomical calculations indicate that the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah will be born immediately after the conjunction occurs at 2:39 pm local Cairo time on Thursday 29 Dhul-Qi’dah 1445 AH corresponding to 6/6/2024 AD. The new crescent will remain in the sky of Mecca for 11 minutes, and in Cairo for 18 minutes after sunset that day. The crescent will remain visible in the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt for periods ranging between 12-20 minutes.
Number of days of Eid al-Adha holiday
After the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah, the beginning of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah 1445 AH will be astronomically on Friday, 6/7/2024 AD, the Arafat stop for the year 1445 AH will be astronomically on Saturday, 6/15/2024 AD, and Eid al-Adha for the year 1455 AH will be astronomically on Sunday 6/16/2024 AD.
