There is something sweeping in every Dutchman who came to Germany: they can’t believe that their team qualified for the semi-finals. 1. The Dutch fans who came to Germany to cheer on their team in the Euros are especially lovable, and in addition to that, there seem to be more women and children among them than any other group of fans. Maybe it’s because of the geographical proximity to the country, and maybe it’s something basic in the culture. Be that as it may, there is something overwhelming for every Dutchman who came to Germany: they cannot believe that their team – the one that received many criticisms for its unimpressive ability – qualified for the semi-finals.
