Reports in the world that Iranian military forces have taken over a ship near the Straits of Hormuz. According to the reports, it is the ship MSC ARIES that sailed under the flag of Portugal, and made its way from the United Arab Emirates to India, according to the reports, two of the crew members were murdered, with 20 Filipino citizens on board.

It turns out that the same ship is owned by one of Israel’s richest men, Eyal Ofer. Iran’s official news agency confirms that the Revolutionary Guards have taken over a ship connected to Israel. The ship is now being moved into Iran’s territorial waters.

It should be noted that ships of this company have been attacked by Iran and its affiliates many times in the past, due to the Israeli context, even before the war – the most famous of which is the ship Mercer Street which was attacked by Iran in 2021 and killed two non-Israeli crew members.

The businessman is in second place on the list of Israel’s richest people, although Eyal Ofer recorded losses of $4 million, when he is ranked 85th in the world with an estimated fortune of $24 billion. In third place, right after Eyal, is his brother, Idan Ofer, who also recorded a weak week with losses of 55 million dollars, while his personal wealth now stands at 17.2 billion dollars, ranking 110th in the world.

Meanwhile, the IDF spokesman, Lt. Col. Daniel Hagari issued a statement to the foreign media: “Iran is the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism. The IDF is prepared for all scenarios and will take the necessary steps – together with our allies – to protect the citizens of the State of Israel.”
