French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday condemned “false information and fabricated scenarios,” referring to rumors on social media that his wife is transgender.
The President commented in response to journalists’ questions about this issue at the end of a ceremony marking the inclusion of abortion in the French Constitution.
“The worst things are false information and fabricated scenarios with people who end up believing them and disturbing you, including your privacy,” Macron said.
Conspiracy theories haunt Macron

President Macron said: “There is a huge amount of educational work to be done,” considering that “the feminist battle is not the battle of women, but the battle of men and women.”
