FilGoal | News | Modric talks about his future with Real Madrid

Real Madrid player Luka Modric spoke about his future with the club.

The Croatian player’s contract expires at the end of the current season.

The 38-year-old told AS newspaper: “Playing an additional season with Real Madrid? We will see what happens in the future, but we are here to celebrate the league and to enjoy.”

He concluded, “I want to finish the season well first, and then let’s see what happens.”

Fabrizio Romano, the famous journalist for Sky Sports, previously stressed that the future of Real Madrid duo Toni Kroos and Modric will be decided before the Champions League final.

According to Romano, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will meet with them in the coming days to decide their future.

Carlo Ancelotti, the team’s coach, spoke earlier about Kroos’s future and said: “I thought before the Bayern Munich match that if we lost the match, I would talk about the players’ future, but this matter was postponed because of our victory.”

Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb wants to return Modric to the team where he started his career.

Dinamo Zagreb club president Mirko Barisic previously bought a page from the print edition of the Spanish newspaper Marca in order to negotiate publicly with Luka Modric, the Real Madrid player.

Barisic posted a video on the club’s page reading the paper copy of the Marca newspaper and opening the page he had purchased to send a direct message to Modric.

On the page that Barisic bought, a picture of Modric and the Dinamo Zagreb logo appear.

“Join us, it makes the most sense in the world,” Barisic wrote on it.

Ancelotti had previously responded to reports of Modric joining the coaching staff during next season.

The Italian coach told reporters before the Seville match: “I don’t know what Modric will do in his future. He is still a great player.”

He concluded, “He will choose his future, and I will not talk about this matter with you, journalists.”
