“Full of gratitude”: at the age of 51, Shirley Boganim is expecting twins via surrogacy

After years of treatments, bumps and longing for a child, this morning (Thursday) the model Shirley Boganim shared with her 69.4 thousand followers on Instagram an exciting line: at the age of 51 she is expected to finally fulfill her heart’s desire and become a mother to twins through a surrogacy procedure.

“For 13 years we have tried to bring children into the world,” Boganim began the post in which she told about the difficulties she and her husband of over a decade, Liran Sarok, experienced on the long road to becoming parents.

“Years of disappointments, pain, crying, abortions, surgeries and a complete feeling of helplessness. There were moments when I almost gave up, when I almost lost my faith, but deep down I never stopped dreaming and praying.”

“It wasn’t an easy journey,” she continued and shared openly, “but now I understand that every pain, every obstacle and every tear had a meaning, maybe not in the way I imagined, but probably this is the way that was meant for me.”

At the end of the post she revealed that their dream will now become a reality thanks to a surrogacy procedure, in the end the parents will become twins. “Thanks to our angelic surrogate, we are expecting. Full of excitement and gratitude for this great miracle. Excited to start a new chapter in my life that will fill the house with happiness and joy,” she wrote and asked in her special moment to also remember the abductees and offer a prayer for their safe return home.

“Thanks to the light that is returning to us these days, all the abductees will return to us safely and without delays and to everyone who is on this journey I am here to remind you not to give up, in the end the light comes even if the path to it is different.”

Boganim was previously married to model Eric Ben Zino for a decade. In 2013, after a year and a half of dating, she married Liran Sarok. Over the years, Boganim spoke bravely and openly in interviews about her longing to become a mother and the difficulties the two encountered, which also included endometriosis surgery she underwent in 2021.

“Nine and a half years of hard war and a challenging path for me and my husband, to bring a child into the world. We will not break and will keep trying,” she shared with her tens of thousands of followers after the surgery. “I believe that in the end dreams come true.”

After receiving thousands of links and hundreds of embracing and excited responses, many of them from her friends in the industry, Boganim asked to add a few words in another story and wrote: “Thank you very much to everyone for the kind words. I have been waiting so long for this moment when I can share my exciting news. I couldn’t hold it in anymore. Together However, I want to wait for the moment of truth to come and then I can share everything. Thank you for understanding, I love you.”
