Gilberto, the magician of Al-Ahly’s left flank, celebrates his 42nd birthday today

Angolan Felisberto Sebastiao Gilberto, the former wizard of the left front, celebrates in Al-AhlyToday, Saturday, is his 42nd birthday, as he was born on September 21, 1982.

Gilberto started his football career with the Angolan club Petro Atletico in 2001, before moving to Al-Ahly in 2002, where he spent 8 seasons of success and brilliance before ending his career with Al-Ahly in 2010, moving to the ranks of Lierse in Belgium and from there to AEL Limassol in Cyprus, and concluded his career in the Angolan league with the Petro de Luanda club, where he was a teammate of Flavio at the time, and announced his retirement in 2015.

Gilberto has been a key player in his country’s national team since 2002, particularly in the 2008 African Cup of Nations in Ghana and 2010 in Angola.

Gilberto participated with Al-Ahly in 280 matches, scored 6 goals, and won 21 championships with them (6 Premier League championships and 3 African Champions League 4 African Super Cups, 5 Egyptian Super Cups and 3 Egyptian Cups.

The Angolan Gilberto had prominent humanitarian stances with Al-Ahly, the most important of which was his refusal for Al-Ahly to bear the costs of his Achilles tendon injury, which he suffered during his participation with the Angolan national team in the 2006 season. Al-Ahly club bore the costs of the player’s treatment in order for him to quickly return to the stadiums, but in his first call-up from his national team, he asked them to pay the costs of his injury to Al-Ahly before joining the national team.
