Hadas Klein confirmed this evening (Friday) that President Yitzhak Herzog visited her at her home in 2017 and claimed that he knew what Netanyahu’s defense version would be in an attempt to undermine her, as published in Haaretz. “What I thought then was that maybe he (Herzog) was sent on (Netanyahu’s) command,” Klein said in an interview with Channel 12.
Klein, the key witness in the 1000 case, also confirmed that Herzog asked her to put both of their phones away from the place of the conversation. “What I thought was that maybe it was a way of fooling me and it made me angry. I felt that even the people I consider trustworthy were coming to influence me,” she said of the meeting. “He should say what his intention was in this visit, I can only say what I felt.” According to her, the meeting lasted about half an hour.
In the interview, Klein also told about a conversation between her and Netanyahu, which took place at a time when he and his wife received gifts from businessmen Arnon Milchan and James Packer. In the conversation, Netanyahu told her, according to her, that giving gifts is allowed. Klein quoted Netanyahu as saying: “You have to understand that you don’t give things of an apartment here and things that are prohibited, I will also explain that to Arnon and Packer.” According to her, the conversation was held through the secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Office, about an hour and a half after Sara Netanyahu called her and reprimanded her for preventing Milchan’s construction inspector from attending a meeting regarding the renovation of the Netanyahu couple’s private home in Caesarea.
Klein said that the prime minister’s wife yelled at her and threatened to kill herself. “She informed me that she was late for work because of me and that she was fired, even though she initiated the conversation. The worst thing is that she said: ‘I will kill myself and I will write a letter that is because of you and because of Arnon,'” Klein said.
Last month it was published in “Haaretz” that in 2017 the chairman of the opposition Herzog came to visit Klein’s house. the gifts from you, that he never asked him for anything on his own initiative,” Herzog revealed to Klein. A source exposed to the details of the meeting said that Klein told him that she felt That “he came to influence her”. But when he left I was distressed, I suspected that he had come to help Netanyahu. Instead of coming and strengthening me, he chose to convey to me messages he heard from Bibi.”
