Hamdi Fathi officially joins Al-Ahly on loan before the 2025 Club World Cup

In a separate context, Al-Ahly team will host its Algerian counterpart, Shabab Belouizdad, at six in the evening next Sunday – Cairo time – at Cairo International Stadium in the matches of the third round of the group stage of the African Champions League.

Al-Ahly, the defending champion, is competing in Group C of the African Champions League, which includes Algeria’s CS Belouizdad and South Africa’s Orlando Pirates, next to Abidjan Stadium.

Al-Ahly had qualified for the group stage after defeating Kenya’s Jormahia in the round of 32, then achieved victory in the first round of the group stage at the Ivorian Stadium in Abidjan, 4-2, in Cairo, then tied 0-0 with Orlando Pirates in South Africa in the second round.

Al-Ahly, led by Marcel Kohler, is looking forward to winning the third consecutive title of the African Champions League, after winning the last two editions, 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Al-Ahly team holds the African Champions League title in the last two editions, after defeating Tunisian Esperance in the last edition with a clean goal on aggregate, while it won the title in the previous edition at the expense of the Moroccan Wydad team with a score of (3-2) back and forth.
