Hani Al-Alayli, a member of the Board of Directors of the Musicians Syndicate, Alexandria branch, revealed new details about the death of saxophonist Mohamed Ali, who died in Alexandria, after falling from the elevator, after saving a mother and two children.

Al-Alayli, in a special statement to “Masrawy”, said: “May God have mercy on him, our colleague Muhammad Ali Nasr, a working member of the Syndicate of Musical Professions, Alexandria Branch, and known for his respect and appreciation.”

He continued: “The incident of his death, may God have mercy on him, occurred 3 days ago, and as soon as we learned of the rule of fellowship, and the love that existed between him and the members, we moved quickly and took care of all burial procedures and permits, at the union’s expense, on Tuesday.”

He added: “The family of the deceased received condolences on Tuesday evening.”

The late saxophonist Mohamed Ali Nasr was surprised by a power outage while he was in the elevator of his building in Alexandria, between the eighth and ninth floors. He was accompanied by a mother and her two children.

After he succeeded in getting the two children out, and during an attempt to get the mother out, the musician fell to death and died in the basement of the building’s elevator.

Muhammad Ali Nasr, the late saxophonist, lived between Cairo and England, and specialized in jazz music, before he gained fame in Alexandria by playing in hotels and wedding parties, in addition to playing in the Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria.
