Liam Payne is immortalized in a cancer hospital
Fans noticed in some photos that the funeral program included information about donating to Great Ormond Street Hospital, the largest children’s hospital in the United Kingdom.
He wrote in the funeral programme: “Thank you for your donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity in memory of our friend Liam Payne. “Your donation today will help continue Liam’s legacy by building a brand new children’s cancer center at the hospital. “This wonderful building will help give seriously ill children a happy, fun-filled and longer childhood.” On the Great Ormond Street Hospital website, there is a page dedicated to accepting donations in Liam’s memory, which includes the same text as the funeral programme.
This comes after Liam spoke on Snapchat days before his death about donating money to sick children via the GoFundMe platform, which he was browsing hours before his death.
“I’ve always felt lucky to be in this position,” Liam said, “and my ambition in life was to be a superhero… but I can’t fly, I’m not a great mechanic, I’m not affected by radiation, and I’m not super strong. All I know is that there are websites where you can Through which you can donate to sick children who need your help.”

He added: “It doesn’t matter how big the donation is, whether small or large. What’s important is that you look into this child’s eyes and realize… As a father, it affects me differently because I look at them and imagine if this were my child, I would want the whole world to look at me and say, ‘Please, help me.’
Liam continued: “It is a shame that in 2024, these children still have to pay for their medical treatment, which is supposed to be free in my country.”
This wasn’t the first time Liam had shown his generosity, as he had donated to charities throughout his career. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has funded more than 360,000 meals for affected people, supporting more than 100 food banks in cities across the UK.
