The Galatasaray team retained the Turkish Super League title for the second time in a row, increasing its record to 24 titles in the history of the tournament, by defeating its host Konyaspor by three goals to one, on Sunday, at the conclusion of the competition.

The visiting team entered the confrontation in search of an equalizing point to officially declare itself crowned champion of the competition, benefiting from the three-point difference separating it from its rival, Fenerbahce, but it was able to settle the confrontation with a well-deserved victory.
Loud celebrations for Galatasaray’s victory
Galatasaray’s goals came from Argentinian Mauro Icardi (two goals) and Berkan Kutlu in the 29th, 51st and 53rd minutes, respectively, while Danish Luca Prep scored Konyaspor’s only goal in the 78th minute.
With this result, Galatasaray raised its score to 102 points in the lead, 3 points ahead of Fenerbahce, while Konyaspor’s score froze at 41 points in 16th place.

Galatasaray suffered only two losses in the league this season, including a defeat at home to Fenerbahce one week ago, which postponed its coronation until the final round. Galatasaray scored a total of 92 goals and conceded 26 goals in league this season.

As for Fenerbahce, they suffered one defeat in the league, but tied six times, while Galatasaray tied three times. Icardi won the top scorer list in the league with 24 goals, three goals ahead of Bosnian Edin Dzeko, Fenerbahce striker.
In the same round, Fenerbahçe rained down Istanbulspor’s net with half a dozen goals scored by Edin Dzeko from a penalty kick, Sebastian Szymanski, Dusan Tadic, Bright Osei-Samuel, Serdar Durusun, and Joshua King in the 8th, 15th, 35th, 66th, 76th, and 78th minutes.
Ankaragucu completed the contract for the teams relegated to the second division, along with Fatih Kara Cumrek, Pendikspor and Istanbulspor, after losing to its host, Trabzonspor, by four goals to two. Ankaragucu’s score froze at 40 points in seventeenth place, while Trabzonspor raised its score to 67 points in third place.
Başakşehir achieved a major victory over its host Adana Demirspor with a score of 6-2, strengthening its position in fourth place with 61 points, while Adana Demirspor’s balance froze at 44 points in 12th place. Hatayspor won over Rizespor with two clean goals, and Kasim Pasha defeated Besiktas. With two goals to one, Gaziantep beat Pendikspor with one goal without a response.
