Hundreds of family members, friends and acquaintances arrived today (Monday) at the Kiryat Shaul cemetery to accompany on his last journey Sgt. Many people came to participate in the human chain of flags up to Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery.
His mother, Mirav Sepeda: “You told us that you trained for this moment and somehow you always managed to calm me down my child, the purest heart that exists, humble, quiet, never complains and gets along in any hot situation. I can’t believe I won’t see you again. I’ve been waiting so long for you to come back and tell What happened to you in Gaza and on Monday, a week ago, you called from another phone and I’m so glad that we kept the phone just to hear you and understand what you were going through, you didn’t say much but it was important to you that we let your friends know that everything is fine with you.”
She also said in pain: “You said you would say that you would return home and see how you return. You were at so many funerals, what you went through because of this damned war at such a young age, you lost friends, among them a close friend Tomer Barak, you could not be at his funeral because you did not go out, so as soon as you were able, you rushed to the family home To comfort and you even made a trip with your soldiers in remembrance and we of course found that out from friends because for you it goes without saying, you were such a good boy, taking care of others, volunteering where needed and all modestly and quietly.”

The bereaved mother added: “And then came the moment that I was so afraid of. There was a knock on the door. I looked through the binoculars and saw a soldier. So I looked for you. I wanted to see you. Maybe you stopped and surprised me because you did something a few times and I opened the door and the look of the soldiers was enough to understand that the worst of all had happened, boy. My love, my prince, I don’t want to say goodbye to you, I love you to the point of pain and who didn’t know how I could manage to think that you are not with me, you didn’t manage anything, you planned to travel to study, but you told me first of all the army, that’s how my mother told me everything at the time, school after the army and that’s what you did, you fight bravely For the country, for the removal of the abductees, you were a target and unfortunately our attempts to get you off of this did not help, her beloved, a king, a brave hero, forever be with us, rest in peace.”
Lt. Col. David Rom, deputy commander of the Givati Brigade, eulogized: “We stand here today, paining the horror. The State of Israel lost one of its best sons, your dear Sahar, remember the blessing that fell while fighting for the defense of the homeland in the Iron Swords War. You enlisted in November 2021 for the Givati Brigade and serve in the Rotem Regiment. To take part in operational employment in Lebanon and after that you were assigned as a platoon commander only four months later and in light of your quality and professional performance you were promoted to the position of cadet sergeant. You were a professional, skilled and talented fighter.”
Rom also added: “You were admired by your friends and your soldiers in the company more than anything. You showed a personal example, responsibility, humility and care for each soldier. You were a significant example to the soldiers of the platoon and the company and a good and loyal friend to your friends. The Iron Swords War is one of the most important wars in the history of the state and the people of Israel. To function in the training about a month ago you rose as a platoon sergeant and joined the fighting to fight together with your friends, continuous and complex and difficult combat.
