German Bayer Leverkusen achieved a valuable victory over its guest, English team West Ham United, with a clean score, in the match that brought them together on Thursday evening, at the Bay Arena, in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.
Bayer Leverkusen’s goals were scored by Jonas Hoffmann and Victor Boniface, in the 83rd and first minutes of stoppage time for the match.
The return match between the two teams will be held next Thursday evening at the Olympic Stadium in London, the home of West Ham United.
The Bayer Leverkusen team qualified against the Arbaijani team, where it tied in the first match with a score of 2-2 and won the second leg with a score of 2-3 to qualify 5-4 on aggregate, while West Ham beat Manchester United with a score of 5-1 on aggregate, after receiving a loss with a clean goal. He won by five in the second leg.
The second leg of the European League semi-finals will be held on May 2 and the second leg on May 9, and finally the final will be held on May 22 in the Irish city of Dublin, at the Dublin Arena.
