Local pride: Lieutenant Shahar Manes Ziona received the prestigious captain’s pin

Lieutenant Shahar, 22 years old, Menes Ziona She marched on the parade ground in an emotional state, after two years and four months of an intensive and significant course, in which she was presented with the officer ranks and the prestigious captain’s pin, this in the shadow of the ongoing fighting as part of the “Iron Swords” war.

Shahar is finishing the course in the sailing major and will serve in Ahi Keshet, a Saar 4.5 model missile ship. Shahar studied at “Golda” high school where she studied chemistry and Arabic. Before her enlistment, Shahar was a professional hurdler, but decided to give up a sports career in favor of significant service.

Shahar tells about the course: The course was special. The bond created between us is a special bond, we went through a lot together and saw each other in the most difficult moments. At the end of an advanced stage there was an end-of-stage journey, it was a difficult journey, we reached the end of the journey to a hill that is close to the sea, and I received an outstanding stage, which for me was a crazy thing”

About her role in the fighting, Shahar says: I’m glad we could take part in the fighting. It’s a crazy experience, working around the clock, while we had to continue studying the course material. I’m glad we got to help in the fight and be part of the ship at this point.
