Argentine international Lionel Messi is planning to include another star from Barcelona’s golden generation in the ranks of Inter Miami, to be on the American team during the coming period.
A large number of stars from Barcelona’s golden generation are currently active at Inter Miami, including the Spanish duo Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba and the Uruguayan Luis Suarez, in addition to Messi himself.
Inter Miami’s management, led by owner David Beckham, is considering dismissing Argentine coach Gerardo Tata Martino, head coach of the first football team, in light of the team’s mixed results recently.
According to what was reported by the Spanish network “El Nacional”, Lionel Messi contacted the Spanish Xavi Hernandez, the current coach of the Catalan club, in order to lead Inter Miami, succeeding coach Tata Martino.
Reports indicated that the owners of Inter Miami – especially David Beckham – are excited about the presence of Xavi in the first team of the American club, as he previously shared the locker room with Messi, Suarez, Busquets and Alba.
