Uruguayan veteran Luis Suarez led his Inter Miami team to victory over host DC United 3-1 in the American Football League.
In the absence of Argentine star Lionel Messi due to injury, Suarez has continued his brilliance since his arrival to Inter Miami last December from the Brazilian club Gremio, by scoring his sixth goal in 7 matches in various competitions.
Miami failed to win in its last seven matches in which the team’s star and captain, Messi, was absent, a series that began last September. However, Argentine coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino preferred to keep Suarez and his former Barcelona colleague, Spaniard Jordi Alba, on the bench.

DC United took advantage of these absences to open the scoring through Jared Stroud (14th minute).
The host team’s lead did not last long, as Inter Miami responded 10 minutes later by equalizing thanks to Ecuadorian striker Leonardo Campana.

Martino introduced his player Suarez (37 years old) in the 62nd minute, giving his team a 2-1 lead 10 minutes after he entered the field, then returned and increased his lead in the third (85th minute).
The referee of the match sent off DC United’s Portuguese player Pedro Santos after a strong objection to substitute Shanider Borgelin from Haiti (90th minute).
