Minister of Health on Aswan Infections: The Situation is Reassuring and the Crisis Will End Within

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, revealed the latest developments in the health situation in Aswan Governorate after the emergence of numerous cases of intestinal flu during the past period.

“Abdel Ghaffar” said during his speech at a press conference today, Saturday: “Since September 11 until now, we have monitored 128 cases of intestinal flu and diarrhea among the people of Aswan Governorate, explaining that 22 cases have recovered and left the hospitals.”

Abdel Ghaffar added that coordination took place between the Ministries of Health and Housing and Aswan Governorate to analyze drinking water at the governorate’s 103 stations to ensure the safety of the water.

The Deputy Prime Minister continued: We also conducted round-trip visits to the governorate’s hospitals to ensure their readiness to receive the injured.

He pointed out that the health situation in Aswan Governorate is reassuring and that the crisis will end within days, adding: All infected cases are from the villages of Abu Harish and Daraw, and the safety of the drinking water network in them is now being verified.
