Today’s five o’clock matches in the sixth round of the Egyptian League Championship witnessed a double remontada for Ceramica Cleopatra and Ghazl El Mahalla, at the expense of both the National Bank and Smouha.
Ceramica Cleopatra overturned a goal deficit in the first half against Al-Ahly Bank, winning 2-1, on the floor of Cairo International Stadium.
The National Bank threatened Ceramica’s goal early with a missile shot from Osama Faisal in the 11th minute, but it hit the post. Ceramica Cleopatra responded with a goal in the 19th minute, through Ahmed Belhaj, but it was ruled out for offside.
Al-Ahly Bank took the lead with striker Osama Faisal’s goal in the 42nd minute, after an individual effort from Yaw Anwar, who dribbled past the visitors’ players and sent a perfect cross to his team’s striker in front of the empty net.
The National Bank scored a second goal through Yaw Anwar, but the referee canceled it after returning to video technology due to offside in the 71st minute, amid major objections from technical director Tariq Mustafa.
Ceramica equalized through defender Rajab Nabil in the 76th minute, after following up on a corner kick.
Ceramica succeeded in completing the remontada with the second goal in the 78th minute, through substitute Marwan Othman, after a pass from his colleague Fakhri Lakay.
Ceramica raised its score to 11 points, placing it in fourth place, behind Zamalek, Pyramids and Al-Masry on goal difference, while the bank’s balance froze at only 5 points, placing it in sixteenth place.

Penalty kicks match… Ghazl El Mahalla turns the tables against Smouha in a four-game win
Within the framework of the same round’s competitions, Ghazl El Mahalla overturned its deficit against its host Smouha with a clean goal, achieving a broad victory by four goals to one, on the floor of the Alexandria Stadium.
Referee Mohamed Maarouf awarded a penalty kick for Smouha Club in the 18th minute, after a handball by Abdel Rahim Amouri, and Hossam Hassan successfully scored it in the 20th minute.
Ghazal El Mahalla equalized through Abdel Rahim Amouri in the 32nd minute.
Referee Mohamed Maarouf returned to award a penalty kick in favor of Ghazl El Mahalla in the 50th minute, after a violation by Abdel Rahman Amer in favor of Abdo Yahya, which was scored by Tunisian striker Mohamed Ali Ben Hamouda in the 53rd minute.
Marouf awarded a third penalty kick in the match, after a handball on a Smouha player, and Ghazl El Mahalla increased their lead through the feet of Mohamed Hamdy Zaki, in the 56th minute.
Smouha reduced the difference with the second goal at the feet of midfielder Mahmoud Saber in the 75th minute, with a wonderful missile shot from inside the penalty area, after a pass from his colleague Junior Ajay.
The excitement of the match did not stop there, as Mohamed Maarouf awarded the fourth penalty kick in the match, in favor of Ghazl El Mahalla this time, so Ben Hammoud scored his second and fourth personal goal for his team in the 88th minute, before Ghazl El Mahalla completed stoppage time with ten players, after their player was sent off. With this result, Ghazl El Mahalla raised its score to 8 points, rising to ninth place in the Egyptian League table, while Smouha’s score froze at only 5 points, falling to fifteenth place.
