American rapper Nicki Minaj was fined in the Netherlands, after she was arrested at Amsterdam airport in possession of hashish, according to Dutch media reports.

The singer, who was scheduled to perform a concert in the United Kingdom on Saturday evening, posted pictures of herself during her interrogation on social media.

The police confirmed that they arrested a 41-year-old American citizen. But she refused to confirm that she is Nicki Minaj.

Police spokesman Robert Capell said: “We never confirm the identity of a person in custody; But I can confirm that we have arrested a 41-year-old woman suspected of trying to export soft drugs to another country.”

He added that the singer was released after paying a “reasonable” fine, noting that “the case is closed.”

The singer wrote on the “X” platform that the Dutch authorities told her that they found hashish in bags that, according to her, belonged to a security officer working for her.

She added: “They took my bags without my consent,” confirming that the security officer informed them that the packages of hashish belonged to him.

Contrary to the prevailing idea outside the Netherlands, the sale and consumption of hashish, hemp and their derivatives is not legal in the country, which is known for its cafés and stores that sell hashish and products containing this narcotic substance, and transporting it to another country is considered illegal.
