News and Reports – The leadership of the Abyan Transitional Council meets with the Chief Public Prosecutor for Appeals

The Deputy Chairman of the Executive Body of the Local Leadership of the Transitional Council in Abyan Governorate, Mr. Ali Sheikh Al-Suri, met today, Monday, with the Head of the Public Prosecution for Appeals in the governorate, Judge Abu Bakr Ahmed Mahdi Al-Shaqaa, and discussed with him the process of accelerating and deciding on the cases pending before them, and coordinating efforts to resolve all outstanding cases.

Al-Suri called for rapid and deterrent measures to be put in place against all those accused of murder incidents, cases that undermine security and stability, and phenomena alien to society and the province in particular.

For his part, Judge Abu Bakr Al-Shaqaa confirmed that all the cases pending before them are being conducted with practical professionalism, and that their referral to court will be expedited, while demanding the harshest punishment for all those accused of incidents of murder and rape that spread last year.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to appropriation of state institutions and property were discussed, as well as issues and topics pending before the Public Prosecution with regard to appropriation of agricultural lands and archaeological areas.

The meeting stressed the call for all competent executive offices concerned with these aspects to stand up to these violations with complete determination.
