Milan is close to securing second place in Serie A by sweeping Cagliari
League Plus – Milan Club secured 99% of second place in the Italian League after sweeping its guest Cagliari with five goals to one in the match that brought the two teams together on Saturday evening at the San Siro Stadium in the thirty-sixth round of Serie A.
The Rossoneri’s tally reached 74 points, 7 points behind Bologna, third in the standings, with two matches remaining for each team. Juventus, which is in third place with 66 points, has a weak chance of catching Milan with 3 matches remaining for the Bianconeri, as the Old Lady’s team needs to win these matches, with Milan losing the last. Two rounds in order to seize the runner-up.

On the other hand, Cagliari’s balance stopped at 33 points in the thirteenth place, only 3 points away from the relegation positions.
The first half ended with Milan leading with a goal scored by Algerian star Ismail Bennacer in the 36th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area.
In the second half, Christian Pulisic scored Milan’s second goal in the 59th minute after being alone on goal, benefiting from a perfect pass from Rafael Leao.
Nahitan Nandez reduced the gap for Cagliari in the 63rd minute, but Tijani Reynders restored the gap to two goals by scoring Milan’s third goal in the 74th minute with a missile shot from outside the penalty area.
Leao was alone with the goal and scored the fourth goal for Milan in the 83rd minute, before Christian Pulisic added his second goal and the Rossoneri’s fifth in the 87th minute.
