News1 | Pesach Shani – there is no lost situation

The saying of the Lubavitcher Rebbe (Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak n.a. the sixth president of Chabad Chasidism) is well known, that the point of Pesach Shani is that there is no lost situation “nita kein parfalan”, it is always possible to correct and complete. Even those who were impure or were In a long way and even ‘to you’ that it was desired, despite all this, it is possible to fix it.

How did the people of Israel arrive at the mitzvot of sacrificing the second Passover sacrifice? It is said in the Torah (in Deuteronomy 15:6-7) “And there will be people who are unclean to the human soul and will not be able to do the Passover on that day” – and the astonished people said to him, “Why are we deprived of the one who did not offer the Lord’s sacrifice at its time” – and Moses said to them, stand And listen to what the Lord will command you” and in the following verses (9-10): “Speak to the children of Israel each and every one because it will be impure for the soul or a long way… and make a Passover for her.”

Apparently, the claim of the people, ‘why will we subtract’ is extremely puzzling, if this is God’s will for them to fulfill the mitzvah of a Passover sacrifice, surely God would command Moses to tell them to bring a second Passover sacrifice, and if Moses does not tell them about it, then it is A sign that they cannot fulfill the mitzvah of a Passover sacrifice.

Furthermore, it is said in the midrashi of the Sages that these people who could not make and offer a first Passover sacrifice, were the ones who carried Joseph’s coffin or were defiled due to their preoccupation with the burial of Nadav and Abihu, and certainly they were among the greatest of Israel at that time, for whom the belief in Moshe our Rabb was fully and truly. And if so, when they do not hear anything from Moshe Rabbino regarding their liability for the Passover sacrifice, it means that they are not obligated to offer a second Passover sacrifice, and therefore why did they come to Moshe Rabbino with the claim, ‘Why should we subtract’?

Rather, from this we learn a wonderful instruction in the service of God, when a Jew feels that he lacks something in matters of Torah and Mitzvot, he does not trust anyone and does not wait to be commanded, but demands and shouts from the bottom of his soul why he has been deprived. And this is God’s will that a Jew will claim and demand what he needs. And when a Jew shows the magnitude of his desire and desire to strengthen his relationship with God, God fulfills his will and a commandment in the Torah is renewed – another commandment for all the people of Israel.

And from ‘Pesach Shani’ there is study and instruction in another matter. There are those who argue that why is the topic of the coming of the Messiah constantly talked about, after all apparently we must trust the Almighty to redeem us whenever He wants?! And if so, why are we encouraged to cry ‘until when’, ‘we want the Messiah now’? – we must trust the Almighty in this God!

And on this comes the study and teaching from Pesach Shani. The whole mitzvah of offering a second Passover sacrifice came only as a result of the demand and claim “Why should we be taken away”, and in this way also regarding the request and claim of the Israelites for redemption, not only that this request and claim is not the opposite of the Torah, rather the Torah commands to behave in this way, as they say Twice every day at eighteen “The plant of David your servant will grow quickly… for we have hoped for your salvation all day long.” The children of Israel ask and cry out from the depths of the flood together with King David “Until when God will endure hardship” (Psalms 14) and when they cry out truly and with all their heart, they are working anew that the deliverance will come faster and more quickly, and we will already be blessed that the Messiah of our righteousness will come, who will bring us out of darkness into great light, immediately and right away .
