Ayoub El Kaabi dazzles everyone in his first European participation
Moroccan star Ayoub El Kaabi led his team, Olympiacos, to achieve the first European championship in its history, after winning the European Conference League, at the expense of its Italian counterpart, Fiorentina.
Al-Kaabi succeeded in scoring the winning goal for Olympiacos in the 116th minute of the match, giving the Greek team the first European championship in its history.
Ayoub’s goal in the final raised his tally to 11 goals in the knockout stages of the conference league championship, overthrowing the historic record of Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 10 goals in the knockout stages in one season in a European championship.
Cristiano had scored 10 goals in the knockout stages of the Champions League in the 2016-17 season, which saw him and his former team Real Madrid win the title, after defeating Juventus 4-1 in the final match.
French star Karim Benzema, the current Al-Ittihad striker, also equals Ronaldo in the same number of goals, who also scored 10 goals in the knockout rounds with Real Madrid in the 2021-22 season, and the same number was achieved by Colombian Radamel Falcao with Porto in 2011.
After Al Kaabi scored Olympiacos’ victory over Fiorentina, he was able to surpass Ronaldo, Benzema and Falcao in Europe.
